Essential oils have been used by humans since ancient times. The most famous use of these concentrated oils is in mummification by Egyptians.
While lavender oil, tea tree oil, argan oil, lemongrass, rosehip etc are quite famous, many few people are aware of the uses and effects of pomegranate seed oil.
Fortunately, I received an amazing pomegranate seed oil from the brand Ryaal USA few weeks back and after a lot of research and few experiments I can share with you benefits and uses of pomegranate oil and my experience with the Ryaal USA pomegranate seed oil.
BENEFITS OF POMEGRANATE SEED OIL:
- Natural SPF:
Pomegranate oil contains natural SPF. Of course you cannot skip your sunscreen and only depend on the oil but it does help in providing extra protection from those harmful rays.
- Suitable for all skin types:
The oil is very light in nature and gets absorbed into the skin immediately without making it greasy. It is also non-comedogenic . This means it doesn’t clog pores and thus can be used by any skin type from oily to dry to sensitive.
- Anti ageing properties:
The pomegranate seed oil contains antioxidants and hence it prevents as well as reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Using it in your 20s can help you stay wrinkle free in your 30s too.
- Improves skin texture:
This miracle oil not only slows down the ageing process of our skin but also improves it’s texture. An unhealthy skin usually has a very dull texture with no glow. Using pomegranate seed oil can give your skin a healthy glow and texture.
- Balances pH level of scalp:
This oil is a boon for people who suffer from itchy scalp in monsoon. Pomegranate oil balances pH of the scalp and soothes it to give relief from all that itching.
The oil comes in a 10 ml blue glass bottle with a white cap and a separate dropper. The packaging is simple and leak proof.
The cap as well as the dropper is tight enough to prevent wastage of product.
249 INR for 15 ml.
- My Experience:
I have been using the Ryaal USA Pomegranate Seed Oil for more than two weeks now. What impressed me the most was how light it is ! The oil is very light and gets absorbed with in seconds of application. The oil did not break me out and unlike tea tree oil, it’s safe to be used directly without diluting (always do a patch test if using it for the first time ). The oil has worked amazingly in giving my skin a natural glow and a healthy texture. The fragrance of it is not so pleasing and it might bother people with sensitive smell. I don’t have any issue with the smell as it doesn’t stay long.
Besides improving my skin overall, it has also helped me tame my frizzy hair. It’s a must have a product for everyone with frizzy hair and oily skin.
Currently It is available only on Amazon.
5/5. It has no negative points !

WAYS TO USE POMEGRANATE SEED OIL:
- Facial Serum:
This is the best way to use it. I apply a thin layer of Pomegranate Seed oil after cleansing and toning. After few minutes of application of oil, I finish up my regime with an oil free moisturizer.
- Mix with Anti ageing cream:
The Pomegranate oil is highly rich in antioxidants so mixing them in an anti ageing cream can speed up the effect of anti ageing antioxidants and slow down ageing effectively.
- Hair serum:
Being extremely light, it can be used as a Serum on ends and baby hairs to control and tame frizz without any greasiness.
- Hair mask:
Once or twice in a week, apply a mask of curd, olive oil, tea tree oil and Pomegranate oil for silky and strong hair. It cleanses scalp effectively and promotes hair growth. this mask will also help you get rid of dandruff and itchiness.
5. Face pack:
This face mask is my current favorite! Mix properly an egg yolk, 3 drops of pomegranate oil and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply it evenly on face and layer it up with small pieces of tissue paper. Then apply another layer of the mixture over the pieces. Let it dry for 20 – 30 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
That’s it for today ! If there is any specific thing you want me to write or review, please mention it in the comment section below. I’ll be back soon with more reviews and DIYs. Till then take care and keep smiling 🙂
