In India, the love for cricket and mangoes is unconditional. The latter has so many variants but the king of all is Alphonso. Alphonso is also one of the most expensive varieties of mango and is grown mainly in western India (especially konkan region of India). While we can eat mangoes only during summer season, thanks to Nyassa now we can smell one throughout the year!
Nyassa is a ten years old company that manufactures products that are 100% vegetarian, free of SLS/SLES and Paraben free. I appreciate the fact that they are against animal testing. Being Nyassa is not just being a stickler for luxurious bath and body products but also an uncompromising champion of nature and our environment. Their range of products include Handmade Soaps, Body Lotions, Body Butters, Lip Balms, Body Scrubs, Hand Cream, Face Wash, Face Cream, Shampoo , Conditioner, Body Mists among others. They also have an exciting range of home fragrance products that includes Diffusers and Diffuser Oils and Air Perfumes.
Today I’m reviewing two of Nyassa’s best products, i.e, Alphonso handmade sugar soap and Alphonso hand cream.
1. Nyassa Alphonso Handmade Sugar Soap:
The fragrance of Nyassa’s Alphonso sugar soap is a tribute to our king of mangoes. The goodness of Alphonso is complemented by Glycolic Acid in Raw Cane Sugar and Mango Butter. They act as the perfect moisturizer that replenishes your skin and rejuvenates it for a smooth and soft texture.
Active Base – Active Base is an exclusive and unique blend of six pure and natural carrier oils, essential oils and extract that goes into every nyassa Handmade soap, namely Aloe Vera Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Honey Extract, Cold Pressed Sweet Almond Oil, Cold Pressed Wheatgerm Oil, and Vitamin E. These ingredients work best as Moisturizers, Healers and Soothing agents.
Mango Butter – It acts as a natural moisturizer and rejuvenator. Makes the skin smooth and prevents roughness.
Mango Leaf Extract – It has great healing properties and is a proven and effective remedy for itching.
Raw Cane Sugar – It contains glycolic acid that helps condition and moisturize the skin. It also guards against harmful toxins.
Other ingredients used are water, sodium cocoate, sodium stearate, propylene glycol, sucrose, sodium laureth sulphate, glycerin, sodium chloride, disodium EDTA, BHT, fragrance, colour CI NO. 19140, 15985 and titanium dioxide.
- My Experience:
The fragrance is the best thing about Nyassa Alphonso handmade sugar soap. It smells exactly like Alphonso and the smell is too irresistible for any mango lover. The fragrance is so tempting that I had a difficult time convincing myself that the soap is not edible. The fragrance lasts for quite a good duration and is very refreshing. The fragrance is not too strong so people with sensitive nose will not have an issue.
On application, the soap produces a creamy lather which not only cleanses skin but also moisturises it well. It can be used throughout the year as it doesn’t dry out the skin at all. Infact, at times I prefer skipping my body lotion as the soap is well moisturizing.
It costs 300 INR for 150 grams. It has a life shell of 18 months.
- The product is handmade and affordable.
- The fragrance is soothing and tempting.
- The soap is 100% vegetarian and free of paraben.

- It is suitable for all skin types.
I couldn’t find any cons!

2. Nyassa Alphonso Hand cream:
Nyassa Alphonso hand cream is a clear example of how a little inspiration from nature can result in making of a flawless product. The pure aromatic delight of the king of mangoes inspires the Nyassa Alphonso Hand Cream.
- Mango Butter: Mango Butter acts as a natural moisturizer and rejuvenator while making your skin smooth and preventing roughness.
- Mango Leaf Extract: The Mango lead extract has great healing properties and is a proven and effective remedy for itchy skin.
Other ingredients used are olive oil, sesame oil, stearic acid, e-wax, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, triethanolamine, DM water, methylisothia-zolinone, phenoxyathanol and fragrance.
- My Experience:
The Nyassa Alphonso hand cream comes in a transparent 145 ml bottle with a pump and a cap. The pump makes the usage extremely easy and hygienic. The bottle is travel friendly and can be carried to workplace or college without any fear of leakage. The cream is white in colour and has a heavenly and nostalgic mango fragrance.
The Nyassa Alphonso hand cream is by far the best hand cream I have ever used (and smelled!). The cream is neither too thick nor too light. The consistency is perfect for a hand cream. It moisturises my hands without making them greasy or sweaty. The moisturization power is upto 3 to 4 hours.
The quantity required at a time is very less and thus, the product will last really long. One pump is usually enough to moisturize hands.
It costs 350 INR for 145 ml of bottle. It has a shelf life of 18 months.
- The cream moisturizes without making hands greasy.
- The product is affordable.
- The bottle is travel friendly.
- The pump makes usage easy.
- Very less quantity is required at a time.
- The product is 100% vegetarian and paraben free.
- The hand cream has not been tested on animals.
This cream is perfect with no cons ❤
